Riding 200+ miles over two days in June seems just this side of crazy to many people. I admit that last year when I finished I was exhausted, sore, and raw in places I don’t like to mention! So, why do it again this year? That’s a very fair question. I’m not sure I could give you all the reasons, but here are a few. I love that we are doing something to help those in our community who are desperately in need. I love that together we can do more than we can alone. I love the amazing relationships that have developed because of our shared experiences on the bike. I love the laughter. I love (especially when it’s over) the struggle to complete the ride. Mostly, though, I love that in our own small way we are sowing the seeds of hope that others may also share in the joy to which we have been called.
The 3rd Annual Journey of Awesomeness is a 2-day, 200-mile trek from the beautiful city of Charlottesville, VA to Yorktown, VA. All funds raised benefit Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries, an awesome organization doing awesome things in Charlottesville - more information about CALM can be found here. Last year, we raised over $60,000 and we're excited and grateful for the opportunity to do it again in 2017!
